  • How Ram Kapoor Bought A Lamborghini Without Thinking As He Could Afford It

He recently spoke about his love for cars and watches and how he has built enough wealth to support four generations

Ram Kapoor has been making headlines after he passed some inappropriate sexual comments during the promotions of his upcoming JioHotstar series Mistry.

Now in conversation with Humans of Bombay, the Bade Acche Lagte Hain actor got candid about his financial journey so far. He spoke about building enough wealth to last him four generations and indulging in a luxurious Rs 5 crore Lamborghini without thinking.

    What’s Happening

    • Ram Kapoor has been one of the highest-paid TV actors. He played a huge role during the golden era of TV soap operas.
    • Other than his passion for acting, he also has a lot of interest in luxurious cars and owns a Mercedes-AMG G63, BMW X5, Porsche and Ferrari.
    • He was once again in the news as he recently became the first Indian to own a Lamborghini Urus that is approximately valued at a whopping Rs 5.21 crore.
    • Speaking about how he does not like publicising his luxury car purchases online, he added that somehow the media always leaks it.
    • He told Humans of Bombay, “When I bought the Lamborghini, I had clearly told the dealer not to put press there. However, they had their in-house photographer. Now, the minute they uploaded it on their site, the media took it. How can I stop this? I am lucky that I can afford all this.”
    • Speaking of spending money on such purchases without thinking, once one is able to afford it, he added, “I have always been a crazy petrol-head. I have really been into cars and bikes. People who are into cars and bikes like me, and people who can afford, them mostly have these collections. The difference is mine is talked about, while my friends who have better collections than me are not in the public eye, because they mostly belong to the corporate world, theirs are not talked about. So, if someone is a petrol-head like me, once you can afford it without thinking, you will have it because I don’t like spending money on anything except that.”
    • Expressing his love for watches and cars, Ram Kapoor shared, “Watches and cars are the only things I love, so people who can afford these watches have fantastic watch collections. It’s just that a lot of people who have it, like to keep quiet about it. Even if we want to keep quiet unfortunately because I am in the public eye, the media gets to know about it. Yes, I do have a car collection. I have a Ferrari, a Porsche but the thing is we don’t like to show it off.”

Ram Kapoor On Co-Stars Sakshi Tanwar And Ronit Roy And Their Financial Status

Ram Kapoor went on to talk about the pay disparity between movie stars and television actors. He mentioned that it’s not likely that their paychecks will be the same. However, if an actor has a hit show for 7-8 years and has been on the top, then the actor’s monthly paycheck is equal to the salary for 8 years.

    In A Nutshell

Ram Kapoor has an estimated net worth of Rs 135 crore and is one of the most popular names in Indian television. He recently spoke about his love for cars and watches and how he has built enough wealth to support four generations.

  • Chetan Bhagat On Sardaar Ji 3 Row: “I Love Diljit Dosanjh, Saying He Should Get No Work In India Is Very Unfair”

Chetan Bhagat was speaking at the NDTV Creators’ Manch

Author Chetan Bhagat has come out in support of Punjabi star Diljit Dosanjh, who is in the middle of a raging controversy about the casting of Pakistani star Hania Aamir in his latest film Sardaar Ji 3.

The film released in international territories today, skipping an India debut amid India-Pakistan tensions following the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor, a series of retaliatory air strikes by India on Pakistan terror camps.

Calls for banning Sardaar Ji 3 and Diljit Dosanjh have strengthened since the trailer, also featuring Hania Aamir, dropped on social media on Sunday.

At the NDTV Creators’ Manch on Friday, Chetan Bhagat said, “I love Diljit. he is one of the truly exceptionally talented individuals. I admire him. He sticks to his principles. He wanted to be in Bollywood, but he didn’t cut his hair… He still became a star. It’s not a joke, anyone can get tempted. His music, his concerts, his reels are hilarious.”

At the event, the author and speaker said banning a film which also belongs to the production crew doesn’t make sense.

“That film is not Diljit’s alone. No film just belongs to the actor. At least 300 people must have worked on the film. Even if you have an issue with Diljit, penalising those people is not fair, so much money has gone into it. Banning a film is too much. You don’t like the film, don’t watch it. The calls for his boycott are highly unfair.”

Chetan Bhagat also said, “We don’t need to hate anyone to keep our country safe.”

Humein Pakistan ke mooh nahin lagna, humein apni country ko safe and secure karna hai (We don’t have to engage with Pakistan, we just have to keep our country safe and secure). Look at our level, then look at theirs. We don’t need to hate anyone to keep our country safe. If they trouble us, we’ll teach them a lesson. Our hate will make them win,” he added.

  • Rajnath Singh Holds “Constructive” Bilateral Talks With Chinese Counterpart

Rajnath Singh said that he and General Don Jun had “constructive and forward looking exchange of views” on issues related to bilateral ties

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh held a meeting with his Chinese counterpart Admiral Don Jun on the sidelines of SCO Defence Ministers Meeting in Qingdao in China. He said that it is incumbent on two nations to maintain this positive momentum and avoid adding new complexities in bilateral ties.

He said that he and General Don Jun had “constructive and forward looking exchange of views” on issues related to bilateral ties. Rajnath Singh expressed happiness on the resumption of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra.

In a post on X, Mr Singh stated, “Held talks with Admiral Don Jun, the Defence Minister of China, on the sidelines of SCO Defence Ministers’ Meeting in Qingdao. We had a constructive and forward looking exchange of views on issues pertaining to bilateral relations. Expressed my happiness on restarting of the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra after a gap of nearly six years. It is incumbent on both the sides to maintain this positive momentum and avoid adding new complexities in the bilateral relationship.”

Mr Singh arrived in China on Thursday for the SCO Defence Ministers’ meeting. Upon his arrival, he was welcomed by Admiral Dong Jun. Singh, Don Jun and other leaders, also posed for a group photograph ahead of the Defence Ministers’ meeting.

On June 23, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval held a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing and reviewed recent developments in India-China relations and underscored the need to promote the overall development of the bilateral ties, including by fostering greater people-to-people ties.

During the meeting on Monday, NSA Doval emphasised the need to counter terrorism in all its forms and manifestations to maintain peace and stability in the region. The two leaders also spoke about other bilateral, regional and global issues of mutual interest, according to the statement shared by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

In a statement shared on X, MEA official spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated, “NSA Ajit Doval met Chinese FM Wang Yi in Beijing today. Discussions focused on bilateral, regional & international issues of mutual interest.”

  • No Consensus On Terror At SCO: Ministry On Why India Did Not Sign Statement

India has consistently rubbished Pakistan’s allegations on Baluchistan but this found its way into the joint statement, with Pakistan’s all-weather ally China chairing the meet.

India refused to sign the joint statement at the SCO meet chaired by China since a consensus could not be reached on terrorism. The foreign ministry said today that foreign minister Rajnath Singh had participated in the defence ministers’ meet.

“They could not adopt a joint statement. Consensus could not be reached. On our side we wanted the concerns of terrorism reflected in that,” a spokesperson said.

Sources had said that the statement had skipped any mention of the Pahalgam terror attack of April 22 and mentioned incidents in Balochistan instead, tacitly suggesting Indian involvement.

India has consistently rubbished Pakistan’s allegations on Baluchistan but this found its way into the joint statement, with Pakistan’s all-weather ally China chairing the meet.

India had undertaken a massive diplomatic outreach after Operation Snidoor, sending all-party delegations to 33 nations. But none of the nations on the SCO list — Belarus, China, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan — were included.

In his statement at SCO, Mr Singh had taken a veiled swipe at Pakistan.

“Peace and prosperity cannot co-exist with terrorism and proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction in the hands of non-state actors and terror groups. Dealing with these challenges requires decisive action. It is imperative that those who sponsor, nurture and utilise terrorism for their narrow and selfish ends must bear the consequences. Some countries use cross-border terrorism as an instrument of policy and provide shelter to terrorists. There should be no place for such double standards. SCO should not hesitate to criticise such nations,” he said.

  • Exclusive: Navy Was Assigned Target Packages During Op Sindoor, Almost Hit Pak

An all-out Naval attack would have marked a significant escalation in the military hostilities during Op Sindoor.

The Indian Navy fleet had been assigned their target packages, and were put on hot-standby to launch land-attack missiles at targets inside Pakistan on more than one occasion during Operation Sindoor.

The final orders to fire ultimately never came with sources telling NDTV, “the Navy stopped short of launching an attack on identified targets. This included Pakistan Navy ships and submarines in harbour and land-based targets.” An all-out Naval attack would have marked a significant escalation in the military hostilities during Op Sindoor.

Targets inside Pakistan, including Pak Navy ships at Karachi harbour, would have been attacked with BrahMos missiles and submarine-fired land-attack cruise missiles, believed to be of the Klub series, which are integrated with India’s Russian built ‘Kilo’ Class submarines. “Both warships and submarines were in position to launch anti-ship and land attack missiles.”

Throughout the military hostilities between India and Pakistan, the Pakistani Navy’s frontline assets including frigates and corvettes stayed bottled-up within harbour and did not venture out. NDTV has learnt that many of these warships could have been sunk at port if the order to fire had come to the Navy.

While the Indian Navy’s warships, which enjoy an overwhelming qualitative edge over the Pak Navy, did not fire, NDTV has learnt that Naval weapons were deployed from land bases to strike terrorist bases and other targets within Pakistan. The weapon-systems used have not been specified.

India’s dominance of the North Arabian Sea revolved around the INS Vikrant carrier battle group and its integral component of MiG-29K fighter-jets. This ensured dominance of airspace off the Southern coast of Pakistan. “The presence of the Carrier Battle Group also kept the pressure on Pakistani air assets, with literally nil presence over sea.”

NDTV has learnt that a lone Pakistan Navy RAS-72 Sea Eagle, a maritime patrol version of the ATR-72 turbo-prop aircraft had been tracked by INS Vikrant battle group a few days after military hostilities between India and Pakistan came to an end. “The lone Pak surveillance aircraft which ventured out was effectively tracked and quickly formatted on by MiG-29K forcing it to head back to coast.”

The Indian Navy MiG-29K, which was launched from INS Vikrant, positioned itself within a few hundred metres of the Pak Navy aircraft, forcing the Pak Navy aircraft to return.

Operation Sindoor was a series of air and missile strikes conducted by Indian Armed Forces between May 6-7 which targeted at least nine Pakistani terrorist infrastructure sites. This was in retaliation for the April 22, 2025, Pahalgam terrorist attack in which 26 civilians were shot dead.

  • Kolkata Student Gang-Raped, BJP Says Accused Seen With Abhishek Banerjee

Kolkata Student gang-raped: This horrific incident comes 10 months after the rape and murder of a junior doctor at the city’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.

The alleged gang rape of a law student from West Bengal’s Kolkata – months after the horrific RG Kar rape-murder case – has triggered a fresh and (furious) showdown between the ruling Trinamool Congress and the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party ahead of the Assembly election next year.

Three men – including Manojit Mishra, a 31-year-old former student of the South Calcutta Law College -in Kolkata’s Kasba area – have been arrested and charged with rape. The other two men – Zaib Ahmed and Pramit Mukhopadhyay, according to news agency ANI – are believed to be current students.

According to the police, mobile phones with videos of the rape – videos used to threaten and bully the 24-year-old survivor into staying silent about the attack – were seized from the accused.

A practicing lawyer, Mishra is the primary accused and the BJP – on the warpath with one eye firmly on the forthcoming election – has shared photographs showing him with senior leaders from Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool, including her nephew and second-in-command Abhishek Banerjee.

The BJP has also raked up the RG Kar case to highlight the ‘sinking into lawlessness’.

BJP National Spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari and the party’s IT chief, Amit Malviya posted images that seem to show Mishra standing next to Trinamool leaders including Abhishek Banerjee; Health Minister Chandrima Bhattacharya; and Councillor Kajari Banerjee, the Chief Minister’s sister-in-law.

“Yet again Mamata Banerjee’s government is found standing with the accused! Manojit Mishra is a TMC member. Whether it is the RG Kar rape and murder case, where Mamata Banerjee tried to silence the victim’s parents or now, when the accused is found to be a TMC member…” Bhandari said.

“The horror of RG Kar hasn’t faded… and yet such heinous crimes continue to rise daily in Bengal. Under Mamata Banerjee’s rule, Bengal has become a nightmare for women…” Malviya said.

Neither Mamata Banerjee nor her party has responded so far, but Kolkata Mayor Firhad Hakim has, if only to tell reporters this morning he would not comment without being briefed by the cops. “I have just heard… the matter is serious. I can speak only after getting details of the case,” he said.

The three accused have been sent to police custody for four days.

In her complaint the young woman, undergoing a medical examination to confirm rape, she was assaulted late Wednesday, possibly between 7.30 pm and 8.50 pm, in a room on the college premises.

The National Commission for Women has asked for a police report to be filed within 72 hours.

    The RG Kar Rape, Murder

This comes 10 months after a rape and murder at the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.

The RG Kar case, as that came to be called, made national headlines for its brutality; the woman’s body was found in a seminar room on the college premises and the autopsy concluded she had been raped and possibly tortured – there were injuries to her genitals, the left leg and right hand, and face.

The cause of death was strangulation.

Sanjay Roy, a 33-year-old civic volunteer for Kolkata Police, was arrested and convicted for the rape and murder of the woman, and was sentenced to life in prison, a punishment seen by many as lenient.

Many, including the family, had demanded the death sentence.

  • One Year Since Junaid Khan’s Debut, Why Aamir Khan’s Son Remains Bollywood’s Most Non-Nepo Kid.

The nepotism debate has been a hot topic in the Bollywood circuit for the longest time. At the end of the day, the argument is always about who lasted after the big biased Bollywood launch.

Aamir Khan’s eldest son Junaid Khan seems to be traversing from the other end of the pole when it comes to his Bollywood debut which was on OTT.Maharaj was Junaid Khan’s OTT debut film. Set against the backdrop of 1862 Bombay, it is the story of Karsandar Muji (Junaid Khan), a journalist and social reformer who makes it his mission to expose a powerful religious leader Jadunathji Maharaj (Jaideep Ahlawat), based on the latter sexually exploiting his female followers. These bhakts are blinded by their faith in him and unknowingly walk into his trap as he manipulates their minds. As the film progresses, Jadunathji resists and hits back at Karsandas by suing him for defamation. The climax closes on the court case where Karsandas defends himself against the ongoing libel suit and succeeds in exposing Jadunathji on his unacceptable misconduct. The final verdict leads to initiating criminal proceedings against the “Maharaj”

  • India has repeatedly voiced concern about the targeting of minorities in Bangladesh under the interim government led by Muhammad Yunus.

Prime Minister Modi had also underlined India’s concerns related to the safety and security of minorities in Bangladesh, including Hindus, and expressed his expectation that the Government of Bangladesh would ensure their security, including by thoroughly investigating the cases of atrocities committed against them, during the meeting with Muhammad Yunus. The temple, which seems to be a makeshift structure, was demolished within days of demands from extremists to tear it down. The demolition occurred within three days of a mob demanding the temple’s removal.

The demolition was carried out by authorities from Bangladesh Railway, assisted by police and military personnel, and visuals from the demolition site showed bulldozers bringing the structure down with the Durga idol still inside the structure. The officials are seen ignoring appeals from devotees to spare the temple.

The Bangladesh Railway authorities say the Khilkhet Sarbojanin Shri Shri Durga Mandir was demolished as it had been built illegally on railway land.

The demolition of a Durga Temple in Dhaka had led to a sharp response from India over the treatment of minorities in Bangladesh. Authorities in Bangladesh have justified the move, calling it a ‘makeshift structure’, built illegally.

Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, “We understand that extremists were clamouring for the demolition of the Durga temple in Khilkhet, Dhaka. The interim government, instead of providing security to the temple, projected the episode as a case of illegal land use and allowed the destruction of the temple today.”

“This has resulted in damage to the deity before it was relocated. We are dismayed that such incidents continue to recur in Bangladesh. Let me underline that it is the responsibility of the interim government of Bangladesh to protect Hindus, their properties, and their religious institutions,” Mr Jaiswal said.

India has repeatedly voiced concern about the targeting of minorities in Bangladesh under the interim government led by Muhammad Yunus. Prime Minister Narendra Modi raised the issue with Mr Yunus during the meeting between the two leaders on the sidelines of the BIMSTEC summit in Bangkok
